How to Make a Donation

Donations to the Society are used to support our efforts in conservation, education and research. Past projects have included:

• Purchase of scientific equipment

• Support for wildlife monitoring programs such as the Mesocarnivore Monitoring Project

Our preferred donation methods are through the Edmonton Community Foundation or the PayPal Giving fund, but if you prefer, you may mail a cheque to the address at the bottom of this page.

Edmonton Community Foundation Endowment Fund

The Friends of Elk Island Society has established an endowment fund to support our core activities related to environmental conservation, research, and education in Elk Island National Park and the surrounding Beaver Hills Biosphere.  Visit our donation page at the Edmonton Community Foundation website for more details.  Donations made through this website go directly toward our endowment fund; the interest from this fund provides ongoing support for the programs we deliver to our membership and the public.  If you have questions about the fund, or the Friends of Elk Island Society, please contact info@elkisland.ca.

PayPal Giving Fund

The PayPal Giving Fund Canada is an independently registered charity (CRA# 812867752RR0001) that uses PayPal technology and financial support to raise new funds for causes, without charging donors or charities for their services. Donations made to the Friends through the PayPal Giving Fund automatically receive a tax receipt from PayPal and are not subject to any transaction costs or fees.
